When Born to Run came out in 2009 it took the running world by storm. It challenged long-held beliefs about running shoes and launched an army of barefoot runners. Over a decade later the dust has settled and barefoot and minimalist footwear has become more of a niche within the running world.

Personally, I’ve found barefoot running and minimalist footwear to be very helpful for my own running and I’ve used it quite a bit with runners to help them with specific issues. Many other professionals have found it beneficial including Dr. Steven Dini who is a Podiatric Surgeon. He joins us on the show today to share his own journey as well as his professional perspective on barefoot running.
